Daugherty Township is a township located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, the township had a total population of 3,187.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 25.9 km² (10.0 mi²). 25.8 km² (10.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.30% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2010, there are 3,187 people, 1,251 households, and 915 families residing in the township. The population density is 133.1/km² (344.9/mi²). There are 1,312 housing units at an average density of 51.0/km² (132.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.2% White, 2.1% African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.3% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.3% from two or more races. 0.8% of the population is Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,251 households out of which 17% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.4% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% are non-families. 22.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.47 and the average family size is 2.90.

In the township the population is spread out with 24.1% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 26.0% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 96.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.6 males.

The median income for a household in the township is $55,833, and the median income for a family is $67,788. Males have a median income of $41,160 versus $32,216 for females. The per capita income for the township is $21,410. 13.8% of the population and 2.2% of families are below the poverty line.
